The first thing to do when you arrive in a new city, is to go to the v.v.v (tourism office), you shall buy a citymap there for 2 €. Moreover they may find you a room in a youth hostel.

If you happen to see big red terminals, use them to print maps for free.

You must be 18 or older to get in

A maximum of 5 gr. can be sold per transaction

Most coffeeshops do not serve alcohol

Even though our maps effectively indicate coffeeshops, some are still to be discovered. Moreover, if you have already been to three coffeeshops, you might have trouble finding your way to the next one!

To help you, look at the 'coca-cola' sign at the top of window shops. In fact many coffeeshops don't serve alcohol, so the usuals beers signs are replaced.

Finally every coffees 've got a green and white sticker on their window, like this one.

Average price: 7 € / g. ( from 4.50 to 16 €) 

For the same weed, prices are different from 0.50 to 1 € between coffeeshops (coming soon:coffeeshops menus, for now best ranked coffees've got the best prices).


Some advices :

Order at least 2 g. per transaction, I notice that it usually better serve.

Never order the most expensive pot, it's rarely worth it.

To avoid to be ruined, take it in turns to order in each coffeeshop.

One of the Netherlands main drawbacks is that they charge for every car park, and the winner (most expensive) is Central Station car park in Amsterdam 3.50 € /H. But keep cool, in other cities it's about 1 or 2 € /H.

The less expensive car park in Amsterdam is "Stadion Plein" ( Olympisch Stadion 44), 5.50 € per 24H, and 2 round trip tram tickets parking-downtown are included. 

Oh and I almost forgot ! P+R means parking lot.

Ahhh! Coffeeshops where you can find booze at last!

The atmosphere is amazing, it's very lively, very  ruined and so exciting  (don't panic if you cross the way of shady people, that's just 'cos they totally high). But be careful to the pick-pockets, keep your hands in your pockets and everything will be fine.

If you spend more than one day in ‘Dam, get a bike!!! It’s a paradise for the two-wheeled machine: the whole city is meant for them. Three options:

 Bring one!

 Rent one! (but watch out for the insurances ! There are many thefts)

 Buy one ! you'll meet many sellers
     ( from 2 to 15 € / bike, it's up to you to negociate !)
